Mountain View Elementary School is proud to introduce the arrival of its three new teachers. Mr. Cris Regala (Grade 1), Mrs. Jennifer Rapista (Grade 2) and Mrs. Jennifer Reichenback (Grade 3).

Mr. Cris Valdez Regala knew he wanted to teach from an early age. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree in Education from Bataan Peninsula State University in Luzon, Philippines where he taught 4th and 6th grades for six years.

Mr. Regala is part of the J-1 Teacher Program, a nonimmigrant cultural exchange, which gives foreign teachers the opportunity to teach in accredited primary and secondary schools in the United States. Teachers may work in a U.S. school for up to 3 years, with the possibility of a 1 or 2-year extension.

“It has been a childhood dream of mine to teach in the United States,” he said. “It is a fascinating educational system.” Mr. Regala believes both character development and academic mastery are necessary for his student’s success. When not teaching, the adventurous teacher enjoys traveling, singing, and volunteer community service.

Mrs. Jennifer Rapista is also part of the J-1Teacher Program. She hails from Bacolod City, or the “City of Smiles,” in the Philippines. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Commerce from the University of Saint La Salle, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the Institute of Science and Technology at West Negros University.

Mrs. Rapista has been an elementary teacher for over 18 years and has a daughter in college. In her spare time, Mrs. Rapista enjoys reading, listening to music, and caring for her pets. “What I enjoy most is creating educational videos for my YouTube channel and sharing them with my students and colleagues,” she said with her characteristic smile.

Mrs. Jennifer Reichenbach was born in Pennsylvania. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a bank manager, retail store manager, and restaurant manager. She graduated from Prescott College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and been teaching ever since.
Before joining the staff at Mountain View, she taught in the Sahuarita Unified School District for twelve years. While there she began wondering if her skills could be better utilized farther south. “I wanted to work where I could have the greatest impact on children’s lives,” she said. Her goal is now to learn more Spanish so she can communicate with her students and their families better.

In her spare time, she loves being with her family and puppies. Mrs. Reichenbach is married with two children.
These teachers bring enthusiasm, experience and wealth of cultural capital to Mountain View Elementary School. We are so glad you’re here!

Welcome aboard, everyone!
