- We recommend belts and tucked shirts for all.

What will happen if my child becomes ill while at school?
-
If a student becomes ill, we will attempt to notify a parent or guardian promptly, and we will care for the student in our nurse's station until a parent or guardian arrives. Students may not leave school grounds without either a parent or another approved adult (as listed on the student's information form). If the situation is a medical emergency, we will follow standard emergency procedures.

How is make-up work handled?
-
We expect students to make up all the work they miss for any classification of absence. We allow students the number of school days equal to the number of days absent to make up work, not to exceed a total of five school days. For example, a student who is absent two days will have until the beginning of the class period on the third school day after returning to have all make-up work completed and turned in to the teacher. Any work the student does not turn in at that time will receive a grade of zero. Students will take any tests that were announced prior to the absence on the day they return to school. Students may make up unannounced or unscheduled tests or quizzes following the same procedure as for other make-up work. We allow teachers to have 24 hours to prepare makeup assignments.

What is your field trip policy?
-
School staff schedules field trips at various times during the school year. Students must obtain written permission from their parents or guardians before they may participate in the field trip. All policies and regulations of the school are in effect while students are being transported and while attending the field trip activity off campus. Also, students must attend school on the day of the trip, ride the bus with their class, and stay with their class throughout the field trip. Parents wishing to transport their own child home from the trip must provide a written notice to their child's teacher before the day of the trip as well as sign their child out from the teacher at the conclusion of the trip. The written notice should confirm that they will assume all responsibilities for the child from the moment they sign him/her out. Note: Occasionally, students at San Cayetano or Mountain View walk with supervision to Rio Rico High School to participate in certain school-sponsored activities. These "field trips" do not require specific written permission from parents, since the students never leave district property.

What is the school breakfast and lunch policy?
-
Students will have 30 minutes each day in which to eat lunch. Students may not leave campus for lunch. Lunches are prepared by the Sodexo Food Services Corporation, which provides students with the option of purchasing the daily hot lunch or sandwich and salad bar. Students may purchase lunches before school or during lunchtime by paying the Sodexo clerk. We expect parents to maintain positive balances in their child's meal account, and governing board policy details district direction for those who have negative balances in their accounts. Contact the food service director if you have questions or concerns about these policies.
Breakfast is available for purchase every day 20 minutes before the start of school. We encourage every student to eat breakfast every day.
Students who qualify for free or reduced lunches must (re)apply each year to be eligible.
You may obtain an application from Sodexo in the school cafeteria or office.
